The real work begins

After knocking around a few ideas, some of which were quite exciting but were based around a cool piece of technology rather than solving a design problem, we have really begun working on our intelligent mailbox. My role in the upcoming report includes assessing the needs of stay-at-home people and what aspects of their lives, not just with mail, they find most frustrating. I'm fortunate enough to have access to a couple of people who belong to the user group we are focussing on. Based on the information they supply, I hope we can shape the final product into something effective and usable. Their answers will be used to form personas which will help us define the potential user experience and guide our design decisions. Ideally, our mailbox will help make their lives a bit more livable, and maybe it'll find its way into many homes (or businesses) in the future!
